To John
I would agree that presently the knowledge of cosmological formation of
galaxies, stars, planets and life on this planet is probably only in its
infancy rather than being in its final stage of completion and it is
pretensious to fraudulent to present it otherwise.
In the matter of Bulge and Plates and the shared mechanism for both,
most people would accept the sensible option and drop a stationary
Earth/convection cells and just work differential rotation into crustal
motion without being concerned too much about how the Earth is broken
into fractured divisions.
Otoh, while there is no desperate need for a mechanism, the present one
of convection cells is downright embarrasing yet for Grumbine and his
cronies it is the greatest thing ever and worth defending.
It is exactly a year since I started posting on the Earth'as motions
after a guy tried to link Earthquakes with the observed position of the
Sun at dusk and dawn .One thing has changed over the past year, the
parochial regulars here will never again publically reject the
astronomical connections to terrestial geometry.Who knows John, they
might even be arguing for these motions some day but they are like
children who need the peer stamp of approval first.
So,it is a matter of take it or leave it,Equatorial bulge and Plates
with the same differential rotational mechanism in the semifluid
layers below the crust or a stationary Earth/convection cells for in
order for one to flourish as a concept the other has to go.
I can do no more.
