Never mind Gerald, ..we're almost there, ..We've actually got them to
the point of talking about the equatorial bulge of the Earth as being
something significant in its deformation. Would you believe that?
Anyone? A world full of scientists - and 'George'-like ones too, (..I
mean the cream of the cream,) .. and they are actually picking up on
the idea that this first order deformation of the Earth actually might
have something to do with its deformation.

But look at it.. Spin, bulge, deformation, deformation with twist/
torsion/ torque. And it's taken over a hundred years. Do you reckon
my estimate of a thousand is wide of the mark for the next step?
Namely expansion? It will never be seen until we have a mechanism?
Like the eclipse of the Moon, they're terrified of it, and will cringe
and cower until somebody steps forward and says: "It's all really dead
easy. It's just 'this-and-that'. Simple. " Whereupon those (them
sadists trigged out with bells an' whistles an' whips) who just love to
see people cower in fear, will promptly crucify him for spoiling their
pleasure.

Do we have to understand before we see? Or see before we understand?

What a mob. Mice. Lemmings. Sheep. Gorillas. Sharks. And 'George'.
