You did your best and this is appreciated.
Still you are as usual very far off the mark

The point is not about fossils in mudstone, shale, sandstone and even
quartzite... the point is about the process of fossilisation which is
completely beyond your reach/grasp.
Indeed animals are being trapped immediately in a reduced environment
preserving all the characteristics of the living, right up in some case to
to the pupil & the colour of scales in fishes. These are due in all case to
massive invasion of say clay or sand burying alive the poor animals, either
land or marine animals by the way.
The ludicrous approach of the mentally deranged Universilities 's
officialdom is to assume that fossilisation is a slow process through
progressive immersion of dead animals in mud etc
In fact and all cases, fossils and hence the preservation of past species up
to us, is due to wondrous & terrific accidents having laminated millions of
those animals at the time ( as well as humans for the last event which lead
to nearly extinction of Humanity on Earth )

By the way, how are your arthritis & rheumatism, Ron ?
Not too painful as the winter knock on the door ?
You should consult some ND instead of your regular allopathic doktorz, and
this is a kind advice indeed.
