Yaknow, It never occurred to me to ask when I was living there, but as the coal
mine at Coalbrook in South Africa is five miles deep, that must be some pretty
ancient stuff there too, don't you think? They reckon that the bottom of that
mine is actually about two miles below sea-level, but as I know we were 6000
feet above, it would have to be maybe nearly three by now, assuming it is still
open.
