Al Zenner
Kooks are kooks, and you cannot really distance yourself from their
nuisance. I'm saying this from a position where I've killfiled the worst.
George has sometimes tried to set up the sign "Don't feed the kooks", but it
doesn't really work becourse most newcommers - in all fairness - has to do
their own experience. That was atleast my thoughts when I engaged with Mr
Findlay. On the other hand ... that regulars keep responding proves that
this approach is far from effective.
I've enjoyed Talk.Origin for a while .. it has an admireable and consequent
disentegration of the kook approach, but the average result is there as
here, that it's the kooks that sets the agenda.
I havn't got a clue as to what sort of masochism that drives the kooks in
their need to be defeated again and again. A local religious kook puts it
bluntly that 'scientists' [=atheists] are fair game to be hunted all year
round ... implying that 'whatever it takes', the result justifies the means.
The lack of response to logic etc makes the kooking equel religious
intolerance, but they are stuck on the claim, that science in it's core IS
religious. From what I can tell, ID brings no salvation to those that think
that disguising creationist science in any way supports the claim that
science is another religion.

If Mr Findlay feel that he deserves recognition among equels, why would he
then lie about his approach to his 'science', and the way he 'solves'
scientific problems?

How can Alan expect recognition with his immortal words "If you talk down to
me, I can talk you round in circles spewing science or crap or both from now
til the cows comes home" [free from memory] - in perfect oblivion that I
sacked him for 'talking down' to Jo in the most sleezy and repulsive way.

Jo, becourse of her sex, seems to be our only hope for a mental
'disarmarment'
