What? The earth rotates? I thought it was flat.
There goes my new book, volumes 1 through 17, on the Flat Disc Earth,
spinning through space. Well, i guess I'll jsut have to change Earth to
UFO's and it'll be a blockbuster. Imagine all the people in Kansas that
will claim to have been abducted my my aliens in their flying discs.
My theory about what most people believe goes something line this:
Most people do not study science, math and consequently do not understand
these subjects. They do understand warm, fluffy fairy tales and are more
likely to believe a fairy tale than a valid scientific explanation, backed
up with facts, and scientific data.
But serriously, from a physics standpoint, are there any theories as to
causes the outer core of the earth (liquid Fe, Mn and other stuff) to spin,
thereby generating the earth's magnetic fields? I have seen experiments
that demonstrate spinning similar material in a lab environment have
generated magnetic fields. The centrifugal motion of the spinning planet,
perhaps? What else would it do.
