I was present in the lab when the viking signals arrived, one of the
pyrollisis ovens did give a strong organic content in the chromatography
experiment. Like it was a plant.
Because this was so contentios and because the signal was only in one of 8,
it was ignored as contamination. However there is no way of checking.
I have heard that those probes that were lost did, in fact land succesfully
and that they were primarily designed to look for life. These were said to
be lost because of what was found.
The west will no survive the discovery of exobiology and the only way for
easy transision is to teach it in schools. At present people are being
murderd over this concept as it means to christians the total collapse of
their faith.
I think in terms "If god made me immortal then I am". Perhaps we live on in
gods memory. In fact because my natural death of heart disease is imminent
I am very frightened and I'm not looking forward to it at all.
Chris.
