The ignorance of religion in these science ngs is just stunning.
Doesn't anyone know what metaphors or symbols are?
The stories of genesis and the flood are merely poetic visions
meant to describe the interdependencies within the natural
world, and the role catastrophic change plays in nature.
Are you disputing the truth of either of those ancient assertions?
You'd be a fool if you do. Your only difficulty seems to lie
in the way this philosophy is expressed. Through stories, allegory
and symbols. No thinking religious person takes these stories
literally.
But you're taking their metaphors literally. No thinking person
should do that either. This Disneyland example of religion
represents the lowest form of religious expression.
It's as if religion judged the state of modern science by watching
Sesame Street. That's what you're doing.
I'm stunned at how poorly educated this generation is
in things like poetry and abstract concepts.
