Me neither. But I spent the first 18 years of my life living with an
organic chemist. You get tired of these issues after the first decade.

That's a good site for quickly looking up chemicals, by the way. Here is
the index page, if you are interested in looking up some other ones. I
have a pocket edition of this that I use in the field.

Actually, I tend to go for something like the Merck or BDH online
catalogues if I'm really unsure of a compound's structure, because they tend
to include a number of synonyms for each compound, and they *do* know their
chemistry.
You work in that game? A few years ago I was moderately tempted by
the idea of dumping the oil for working in slipp (DOH, too early! "sPiLL")
analysis/ remediation. A friend worked for a tower block called Camp Dresser
McPhee (give or take a syllable) in Boston, and recommended the work. Of
course, he quit within the year and is now in the oil. Hmmm.
