I'd get that foot along to the emergency room, if I were you. Get
the
buck-shot dug out of it.

I'm not a chemist (though I play one on TV).

Me neither. But I spent the first 18 years of my life living with
an
organic chemist. You get tired of these issues after the first decade.

That's a good site for quickly looking up chemicals, by the way. Here
is
the index page, if you are interested in looking up some other ones. I
have a pocket edition of this that I use in the field.

Actually, I tend to go for something like the Merck or BDH online
catalogues if I'm really unsure of a compound's structure, because they
tend
to include a number of synonyms for each compound, and they *do* know
their
chemistry.
You work in that game? A few years ago I was moderately tempted by
the idea of dumping the oil for working in slipp (DOH, too early!
"sPiLL")
analysis/ remediation. A friend worked for a tower block called Camp
Dresser
McPhee (give or take a syllable) in Boston, and recommended the work. Of
course, he quit within the year and is now in the oil. Hmmm.

That's Camp Dresser and McKee. I have a good friend who worked for them in
Oklahoma before he moved here (he married a rich guys' daughter, da
***!). I only listed that site because it is what is used during
emergencies to quickly identify spills. It is quite useful, and also gives
guidence on response measures. Yeah, I've been doing environmental longer
than I like to admit. It's the only thing around here that pays.
