He said the new evidence suggests that "we had a runaway hothouse
effect
because of the excess carbon dioxide. There was so much carbon dioxide
introduced into the atmosphere, mostly from methane from the oceans."
That carbon dioxide build-up alone would have killed off most
oxygen-breathing species, he said.
Seems I read an article recently that said it is possible to drill for
oil or natural gas on the ocean floor, but if anything went wrong, it
would
release huge amounts of methane into the atmosphere.
The fact or hypothesis that fossil fuel emissions into the atmosphere
are responsible for global warming seems reasonable, but I have another
hypothesis. Have nuclear tests somehow caused molten rock to rise toward
the
surface of the Earth? In that case, there might be an increase in the
mean
temperature of the surface of the Earth, which in turn might melt ice
caps
and warm the atmosphere.
Simple answer - no. More complicated answer - no sir.
Has there been an increase in the mean surface
temperature of the Earth?
There has been an increase in the global average tenmperature. Surely
you've heard about this.
Also, hs there been an average increase in C02
emissions from volcanic vents, either on the surface of the Earth or at
the
bottom of the oceans?
No.
Is there an increase in CO2 content of the ocean?
Yes, but that is because of the increase in CO2 content in the atmosphere.
Is this why whales and other ocean creatures may be dying?
No.
Another hypothesis, less verifiable, is that someone built a strong
Tesla Earthquale Generator early in the last century, set it for the
resonant frequency of the Earth, and then developed a case of amnesia,
and
forgot about it. Not his fault, poor chap.
Oh, a troll. Never mind.
