Cave diving isn't so bad. Good fun. Scary, but good. Hmmm,
reading that, it must be a long time since I went for a bubble. I
stopped diving in 1993.

Any particular reason, or just too busy?

Dead friends. Near-Death Experiences. Realising that I don't have
the
self-control to keep it together if it gets really bad. Plus being too
busy
and not being within 300 miles of a cave and my car dieing from the
tin-moth.

Sorry to hear about your friends. Yeah, I imagine it is quite dangerous.
My friend who took those cave pictures almost got asphixiated rapelling
down a sinkhole that was full of CO2. I convinced him to use an O2/CO2
meter, which he now does.

By the wy, I've gotten a job
prospect to do some geochemical sampling for an oil company. If I get
the
job, I'll be collecting samples in Montana (on the Blackfoot Indian
reservation near Glacier National Park) and in South Texas.

Strange pairing. Must have got some new acreage. So you'll be doing
groundwater sampling to look for covert seeps?

Don't know just yet, but I assume that it will be something along those
lines.

Don't know what the pay will be, be considering the
harsh extremes of climates involved, and all the travel time, it had
better
be worth it.

Well, you can always address that at the interview, can't you <G>.

Right. I didn't bring up salaries during the phone interview because I
didn't think it was appropriate. I prefer to negotiate details in person,
and once I know that they are definitely interested in hiring me.
