Someone has a very strange set of experiences with helicopters if he thinks
that keeping the rotors running while on the ground is unusual. Mind you, would I
take a job as a volcanologist? Hmmm, probably. Many of the hazards are mitigable, if
only by knowing where the wrong places and the wrong times are, and doing one's utmost
to minimise one's exposure in the wrong place and time.
