It looks spongy on one side and on the other it has concentric type
circles.

Hi Greg. That is a silicified tabulate coral, probably a favosites. Can't tell the species from the photo, but the species will tell you whether it is Silurian or Devonian in age. Also, where, specifically, did you collect it? I ask this because I can probably pinpoint the strata and hence the age if I know the location.
