Sounds like you and I need to go on a trip to Greenland! Got any grant

I'll see if I can borrow a fiver off Grant in the office tomorrow.

A light wave is more like a crime wave than a water wave.

Maybe we can get a grant from the young earthers and the EEers (with the
stipulation that we own the data, and that we can make any conclusion that
we feel is supported by the data, of course).

:-)

George

Of course you will represent the stationary Earthers given that your
convection cell mechanism for crustal motion does not require
rotational dynamics.

I do not know what happened to common sense or rather why so much
unsubstantive novelty is allowed to be promoted under the guise of
responsibility.Humanity deserves better than this.

It's across the board, Gerald. Right now it's all about global
warming. Now they're saying it might take a millenium, but it's still
warming the globe, ...and if they can just spin it out so that nobody
notices it's actually happening, but still feeds the grants money_s,
then that's pure art, (acemic style), because (**because**) (Academic
style) "We'll all be dead by then, ..maybe the whole yuman race, ..and
who gives a *** anyway. See you in the bar at six - and we'll have a
game of golf on daylight saving and grants money, and deservedly so
for worrying the *** of everybody like the media loves to help us
do. All we're doing is making everybody happy by worrying them.
People love to worry, ...makes them Happy!" ..."We're just doctors of
comfort and facilitation. Big Effing Dakines, to slap on bleeding
sores and open wounds. The ones that people get by us worrying them
and taking their money. It's like the crust pushes the mantle down so
the mantle pushes back and socks it one. Pure poetry. Easy stuff
people can understand."

The "common sense" (in the academic world) is the necessity to
publish, and you don't do that by being controversial. You just fall
into line, .. slip into the groove, and it's Ooh and it's Aahh, the
whole way. Easy as pie ("The gift that keeps on giving) (Ask
Stuart, ..he'll tell you.) (Such a respectable looking guy
too, ..you'd never guess he was rootin' the system, ..sitting
back, ..getting all his clues from the media, .... So don't you
worry about the rotation, ..it's already on Life Support:-

They're all at it. I was too, ...till people find out you have
something to say, then nobody wants to know. All you do is get a
template and fill it in. Like 'tick-the-boxes' and pass the exam.
Science is only the vehicle for the real deal. ( Hah! And George
thinks he's posting stuff.) ("Teams of researchers believe...") What
a joke!

"To be fair (to plumes), however, they have served geologists well for
over 30 years. In 2002 several hundred papers about them are listed
by the Science Citation Index, so the subject is paying a lot of
mortgages. The assume-a-plume approach has also relieved researchers
of the hard work of thinking up new theories - a welcome relief in
these days when we are all expected to publish six papers a year or
else. However, the time may have come to retire plumes on a full
pension and make way for younger theories - or are they really older
ones recycled?"
