I'm a rookie here and I know that I have got a lot to learn.

My first geology question is:

What keeps the earth's core hot?

I've heard several explanations but I'm not sure which one is true.

Here is what I've heard:

a) radioactive decay of isotopes of Nickel and Iron.

b) transfer of angular momentium via magnetic fields.

c) we keep sending assholes like Hitler and Pol Pot to hell
and the devil can't keep the place hot enough

Of course- C is a joke but I would like to know the real reason.

Well, based upon your obvious understanding of science, I would have to
say
you are correct, it is really 'C'. Hitler causes this. Radioactive decay
of nickel? Please explain to me how it is remotely possible that nickel,
which is not radioactive, could undergo radioactive decay?

Substitute a radioactive material such as uranium, and you have the major
source of heat.
Only the outer core is molten, the inner core is solid. This give it the
magneto effect, that produces the magnetic fields that keep our atmosphere
nice and O2 laden. When this fuel is depleated, earth will turn into a
dead
planet, much like Mars. You do not want to be living here when that phase
begins. Life won't be much fun.

And this is all true because it has been peer reviewed, never mind it
is one scenario of many and there is not enough evidence to decide it
one way or the other.


But you will have to remember, in the Bible, Version MCLIII, Chapter 13,
verse 6, it says "hell is in the center of the earth and it is the source
of
all heat and anyone not believing this will go to hell as a heretic."

And then you have the audacity to make fun of someone else's religion
when you clearly have your own articles of faith.

The one thing organized religion has in it favor they know it is all
about believing.

I make fun of anything I please, if you don't like it, I guess you know what

else has the "right" not to be offended, you have obviously not met me, or
you would know better.

As for my faith, it is in what "is", not in what delusionals, or
