Some are saying that. Most are saying there is global warming, but
there is no proof that humans are causing it.

Me? I say it's wishful thinking that humans can cause the planet to
warm. For the last 2.5 million years or so, every time the planet
gets as warm as it is now, the climate crashes into a glacial period.
We are, after all, in an ice age, and will be for the next 20 or 30
million years, until the plates move enough to allow decent ocean
circulation.
Me? I think it is dangerous to assume that we can't. But aside from
the issue of whether or not we are causing the problem, the fact is
that there is a problem.
LOL. Hilarious.

Just what exactly is the threat? Warming or cooling?

If you have data that indicates that the Earth is currently undergoing
global colling, by amm means, we'd all be interested in seeing it. Or
were you looking at the temperature graphs upside down? It can happen,
I guess.

The usual spiel is that global warming will put too much cold water in
the North Atlantic and shut down the heat conveyor, bringing on another
glacial period (usually miscalled an "Ice Age").

Take a look at the top graph. As is typical of this sort of graph,
"0.0yrs" is today, and on the left end. The sea level scale is on the
right side, and note where today's sea level ("0 meters") is.

Note the typical duration of the present sea level.

I think that mostly applies to Europe, since the subcontinent appears to be
most affected by the North Atlantic thermalhaline. I also don't think that
that theory is something that is set in granite. The fact is that we don't
know exactly what would happen.

And, demonstrate that putting a Tyrant in power would be of any help.

Umm, tyrant? WTF are you talking about? I saw no mention of tyrants in
my post. Did you?

"Tyrant" originally meant a ruler put in power by a populist movement,
such as the present "liberal" movements, (here is the lead in:) including
the "environmentalists". Note the results Hillary and Nader say they
want, and consider very carefully exactly what sort of laws and rules,
and legal practices, would have to be in effect to gain those results.

Oh, you mean like forcing power plants and other heavy industries
(including the auto industry) to clean up their acts? Well, since they
refuse to do it without guvment intervention... Poor picked on polluters.
Brings a tear to my eye.
