Not many places quite like Iceland in the world, and none in the US, so
moving right along......!

They are using plenty of geothermal in So. Cal. as we speak. My best
friend gets her electric out of the Garlock Fault system, courtesy of
China Lakes Naval Base. Another installation at The Geysers, Ca.

I would not use the word plenty! Get a map of the Geothermal resource
areas from the USGS and see how little is being done.
