Article quickly read. No silly comments made.
Your point is?
Liu, Wang, Jia et al produce one thermal model for the structure
of the crust ; a couple of months ago MacKenzie et al produced a
different model for the thermal structure of continental (and more
specifically cratonic) crust, which specifically negates the "sandwich"
model which Liu, Wang, Jia et al are trying to demonstrate.
Interesting, no doubt, to people interested in the thermal structure of
parts beyond direct measurement.
Neither of these competing models addresses the point I was
making in Message-ID: <VA.00001539.5b4a8...@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> ;
the forces developed in plates by Coriolis effects from latitudinal
changes (Oriel's hypothesis, as closely as can be deduced from his word
salad) are going to be much, much smaller than the forces of ridge
push, bottom drag, or slab pull.
I'm not wasting breath on the sufficiency of those forces to
operate plate tectonics.

You are too dumb to even presume to speak for me.
I wait for those who can handle differential rotation as it applies to
deviation in the planet's sphericity whereas you talk about Coriolis
which has nothing whatsoever to do with the matter of geodynamics
involved in geological evolutionary proccesses.
Word salad indeed !,a geostationary 'convection cell' guy is bound to
find geodynamics and its geological consequences to be like 'word
salad' much like the geocentric guys could not understand the
principles behind the mobility of the Earth.
You are worse than the ee guys insofar as you have managed to drag a
perfectly good plate tectonic principle down to a poor reasoning
level but I am not complaining.Wection cell' notionshen men decide
that geodynaimics is involved in geological evolutionary proccesses in
the specific way I have outlined then and only then can you use my
name.Otherwise stick with your flat Earth /stationary Earth 'conv
which takes no account of planetary shape or motion.
