We've already established that andesite cannot form from peridotite.

Look for *Dehydration melting of peridotite* ignorant goose.

Weird question. Those old basins were closed by upductions and are now
under the form of ophiolites. The old sediments are present above the
ophiolites.

Umm, the Michigan basin is closed? It certainly is buried by kms of
sediments, but it is STILL a basin. Where are the ophiolites in the
Michigan basin?

According to you, the michigan basin is oceanic in nature? Do you
remeber that we're dicussing ocanic basin or is it alzheimer again?

Absolutely. The Michigan basin is full of salt. Where in the hell do you
think all that salt came from? The basement of the basin is a rift composed
of basalt. Same for the Illinois basin and the Appalachian basin. Next.
