Isn't that a western ethnocentric view? The Dene had a Harvest Moon two
months later than the Miwoks, the Tsalagi have yet another month label as
"gathering" or reaping moon, then I think the Inuit label yet another month
in a similar way?... all the ethic groups I had looked at use the word
"gather" or reaping to describe the moon. It isn't always the same month.

"Harvest Moons" are both regional and ethnic in origin and do they really
need to be discussed here or maybe another venue like a cultural discussion
group.
