Some months ago I used raw data from the global tropical cyclone climatic atlas (GTCCA)from the navy to use the raw data in ARCVIEW gis, but when I retested the link 3 weeks ago, I found out the link was forbidden. In an email from a webmaster of NOAA and somebody from the navy they said me that te site is closed for non-gov users. :-( In a second email I asked for a CDrom with the complete dataset, but unfortunatly they haven't replyed yet.


The models involved are called JTYM and JGSM ( JTYM being the
specialized product for cyclone-modelling and JGSM being a global
model applied to the cyclone's track ) . I don't know if any other
modeldata is available as raw data but am pretty sure one of you might
be aware of any additional resources .

As I understand it OSU also has a division with raw modeldata , but I
have been unable to locate the HTTP or FTP address for that data.

Any ideas ?? I have tred to get that data direct from NRL - can't be
done , has to be cleared by department of Defense , because NRL is a
naval operation - and by contacting director of JTWC ( e-mail bounced
: no reply ) with no luck whatsoever.
