....will give you links to lots of info on lightning in Canada.
Some of the links give you the "normal" number of strikes per unit area per
year, for individual cities, as well as for areas.
The link to "see lightning as it happens" is actually a composition chart
showing current lightning activity areas as read. The chart is a few hours
delayed, in order so that the composite can be made up.
If you need even more information than that, you can try reaching
Environment Canada from their "Contacts"page...

They may be able to provide some info, or direct you to it, but not
necessarily will all of it be free. But it should cost you nothing to ask.
