I would consider a larger antenna as I have used a 3 ft on Goes with a good preamp and only have obtained marginal signal to noise from Arizona on Goes W.
I also have a 4 ft that is a bit better but still delivers a picture with noise. A 6ft or so mesh (lower wind loading than a solid) satellite dish with the proper feed is what I will try next. I also needed to install a 1691 Mhz band pass filter as local signals near 1691 cause interference here in Tucson.
