I've never seen this area get this HOT this soon. Sure we have 95+F
summers but usually not until late-june/early sept.
What, if any, is the cause of this temp thing?
thanks,
pedro
Where are you?
Tennessee
Jet position and stalled out highs/lows that pumped warm air into some
regions. Milwaukee had a recent near record high (92 or something
like that) on May 31st or June 1st. Missed the record by just a
degree or two. But the record high for the following day was 104 and
happened in 1934 (IIRC), that date the 2nd highest temp ever in MKE
(105 was the highest). The record for the next day following that was
again in the 92-94 range. Sometimes things just line up in such a
way.
1934 is correct, Madison was 101 on that day.
I note that Memphis' average temperature now is 85.
I don't think 10+ anomalies for a high are all that
rare, and suspect the OP has some hot weather
memory loss :)
