That CO2 concentrations are rising at ever increasing rate, but surface
temperature is not keeping pace is often argued as PROVING that global
warming is a "right-wing conspiracy" (why not a left wing one?)

This is almost the same as arguing that because a super-tanker skipper has
ordered "full-steam ahead", and the vessel has not responded immediately,
means that the engines are not working properly.

The climate super-tanker IS picking up speed and heading towards a reef.
There alternatives are (a) work like stink to change course and go into
"full astern" OR (b) wait till the ship hits the reef and hope that the
spilled oil will calm the seas while launching the lifeboats (this presumes
there is no fire!) and that there is enough room on the lifeboats for all.

P.S. The tanker is registered in Liberia and run by a mixed crew.
