You can't tell?

At 12Z 22 Jan 2008 @ 500 mb, I see an oddly (?) oriented omega block,
oriented from northwest to southeast, with lows situated over Sibera
and off the California coast, with a ridge building into southeast
Alaska/northern British Columbia.
I anticipate that the California low is going to get cut off, and
retrograde into the west, which may create a Rex block (a high over a
low), or may work itself into a longer omega block, should the trough
over the central US amplify.
