I recently downloaded and installed SP 2610 firmware V3.5 and Mapsource 6.1.
Previous versions being 3.4 and 6.06 beta respectively.

If I now create a route on the computer and download it to the 2610 unit -
the routing and mileages are the same but the time differs. For example, a
180 mile route which is shown to take 3 hours on the computer is shown to
take more than 11 hours on the 2610 unit. If I press the page button and
look at the route listing you can see that some sectors between turns are
shown to take grotesquely excessive times. If you ask the 2610 to
recalculate the route - it then calculates reasonable times but not
necessarily the same time as shown on the computer.

New routes created by the 2610 unit since the upgrade seem OK but routes
created before the upgrade stored in the 2610 unit also show excessive times
until recalculated.

Whilst I can overcome the problem by recalculating a route before using it -
this is not always convenient because many of my routes include via points
to force the route onto particular roads. If I use the recalculate function
in the 2610 unit it calculates either the fastest or shortest route and does
not take account of all via points.

I have reported the problem to Garmin but wondered whether others have
similar problems.
