I do not have a 276C, however with several other Garmin GPS's, including the
176, I have not needed to connect any of the other leads. Ground, serial TX
and serial RX are all that are needed.
I would expect the DC in (Red) would go to an external source of DC power.
You will probably have to connect the ground lead (Black) to both the power
source, and the data line.
