I bought the MIO 168 during a trip to Hong Kong two months ago. I
just saw it there and thought it was great, and the retailer offered
me an English version of the software although with the Hong Kong
maps. As I want the GPS for knowing my position while hiking in the
Pyrenees mountains I was not much concerned about maps, so it was OK.

The problems started when only the Pocket PC user manuals and parts of
the GPS software are in English. No GPS user manual was provided in
English thus I did the installation the way I could, you guess, badly.

The second problem is that you have to carry the 32 MB SD card
provided with the Mio Map with you all the time if you want to use the
GPS on its own. No possibility of loading the software in a larger SD
card where you could have spare room for other software. My laptop, a
Toshiba P25-S507, does not even recognise the Mio Map 32 MB SD card.

I tried to obtain an English user manual for the GPS and map from
Mio's support in Taiwan but no way. My only hope is to complain to
the Hong Kong Trade authorities, which I should be doing shortly.

So, a great idea a priori but no that good outcome.

Regards
