Usually it's even worse than that. The problem is that in order to keep
these tracks clean, you would have to save them everytime you switch the
unit off. If you save after switching it on, they unit will most likely
have aquired a fix and set a straight connection line before you can
save or disable the logging function.
Besides that, SporTraks can not save tracks. And Garmin's have no
problem to create TracBacks over fix losses/segments in tracks.
This is not Magellan-bashing. It's just a bad implementation given the
possible alternatives. I own a Garmin and a SporTrak. Whenever I want to
log tracks, I take the Garmin, because the SporTrac track functionality
is just so poor.
