That's a difficult problem to fix. And sometimes you don't want it fixed.
I used to give instructions to my house that did not include a name change
on the road, since the road was straight and it wasn't obvious that the
name had changed. A few people saw that the name had changed, and thought
they had missed a fork in the road.
Maybe if the name changes and changes back, it could be ignored. There is
a stretch of road near my house that changes names a couple of times,
almost as if those sharp curves are turns from one road to another. SA2004
announces those. I wonder if SA2005 ignores them.

SA2004 gives this seven turns. One is a sharp right where the named road
turns left, but the "main" road seems to continue unabated. Another is at
the county line, but it changes back after a one segment named for the
ranch it's passing through and a couple of "unnamed" segments.
Most people would say 16 miles north. Some might mention the name change.
