I am the author of GarXface the C++ library and ActiveX control for the
Garmin GPS. I have a new version that works with the new Garmin USB GPS
devices. I have it working perfectly with the 76C but the software
needs to be tested on a GPS GPSMap 276. It turns out that the 276
communicates over the USB port a bit differently than the 76. Go figure.
I prefer someone with C++ experience but that is not required. The most
important quality that you must possess is patience. I have been
working with another individual with a 276 that is no longer able to
help so I think I have most of the bugs worked out. But a bit of
emailing back and forth, troubleshooting via email may be required. We
might be down with testing the first time or it might take several
emails. It is hard to say.
Any Beta testers will get a free C++ library for their own use or my
choose to take the ActiveX version once I get that working.
Non 276 owners are welcome to test too. But these testers should be
limited to C++ programers for now.
If you are interested in Beta testing please email me at
