Thank you all,

I am now able to break large MrSid into smaller files. But I can not
keep the *.sid format. The GeoViewer and GeoExpress Viewer from
Lizardtech allow me to break the MrSid file but I have to choose
between TIF, GIF or JPG. That requires a lot of disk space. Will the
group members advise if there is a tool available to break MrSid file
down into smaller MrSid files.
