I have used MemoryMap 2003 with 1:50k maps in SW England and it is
great. Also on the PC it is a real pleasure to play with it. For example
instaneous zooming with the scrollwheel on the mouse. Lovely. The same
maps are used in the Fugawi software that I have (also 2003) and there
zooming is a real pain as you have to click on a zoom button, then
choose you scale and than.....wait. Please mind that I talk about older
versions of both software packages. Both MemoryMap as Fugawi have newer
versions now. What I liked very much with MemoryMap on the PC is, when
you have downloaded a track from your GPSr to MM, it indicates the
direction of travel by means of arrows and when you pass your cursor
over the track, it displays long, lat, altitude, date and time for the
point where you point the track on the screen. ......
