Moon Phase Eclipse Test On Garmin 76S

During the eclipse tonight I checked the celestial menu for moon phase and the display did NOT reflect the eclipse in the sky. I was curious if the GPS was using any eclipse computations for showing visible phase and it appears that Garmin does not use visible eclipse events in its calculations.
