As a deliriously happy iQue 3600 owner, I'll tell you what I know:

The iQue is a full-featured PDA running PalmOS, so it has all that functionality
along with the integral GPS. The address book syncs with my desktop database
(ACT). I spend a fair amount of time driving to meetings away from my office,
so the ability to calculate routes to addresses that are in my address book is
invaluable.

The iQue is very small--it'll fit in a shirt pocket just like any PDA.

It does a fine job of routing, and with the optional auto nav cradle, the voice
directions are easily heard.

I've bought two of them (one for a friend). I paid $511.00 for the iQue with
auto nav cradle at www.gpscity.com, but that did not include the recommended
256MB SD Card (about $50.00). The SPIII is close to $700.00.

Here's what you may NOT like about the iQue:

The battery life is not what you might hope--I get about 3 hours with regular
GPS use off the cradle. If you are going to use it primarily in the car as I
do, that would be irrelevant, since the nav cradle charges the unit.

The screen, while very sharp and readable, appears to be smaller than the SPIII.
I've never found it to be objectionable, but you may see it differently.

The interface on the iQue does not lend itself all that well to use while you're
driving. I've gotten used to driving with my knees while I enter a new
destination (drives the wife crazy), but I do pull over if I have to do a lot of
input. Just as with other features, I consider this to be acceptable, but you
may think otherwise. Most of the time when I'm driving, I tap icons with a
fingernail, and it works fine.

The SPIII is lower profile than the iQue, so if you plan to put the unit on the
dash, it may intrude less in your vision. I don't find it to be a problem
(except, as with many things, it drives my wife crazy), but some iQue users have
found ways to mount the unit on a vent, lower in the car. It's just a matter of
preference.

As you might guess, I am thoroughly enamored with my iQue (named "Beatrice" by
my daughter, because of the unit's very proper British voice). It is, quite
frankly, the most useful and coolest bit of high tech I have ever owned. With
the PDA functionality along with the GPS, it's an out-of-the-park winner for me.

HTH,
Joe Parsons
