Hmm, don't know on this one. I'm not familiar with the BMW unit (what are
the differences..?) but the 2610 is fully waterproof to IPX7 so I doubt
it's water ingress, unless the seals are faulty.
I'd suggest returning it to where you bought it, or Garmin.
