I have noticed a similar problem with my Garmin 2610. Once I left the
2610 in strong sun. When it was switched on I noticed condensation on
the inside of the screen. It took some time to disappear, but has not
returned as I now keep it covered in strong sun.

But as there is an ambient light sensor looking forward this has to be
kept unshielded
