I bought the Magellan SporTrak Topo unit last year on a trade in program
with my older Map330 (which had died) and it was a great deal. The Topo
unit is much better and in reality I have never loaded any maps into it
because the Topo unit has the whole United States built in. I've found the
mapping data to be fairly accurate but it's not perfect by a long shot. I
too use Winxp to download my tracks and have no problems using the serial
port. Most data downloaded is small in size and very quick transfers. The
Topo came with a CD that has the maps as well and the tracks overlay on it
nicely. I'm working on a updated Topo map of our snowmobiling area for the
club. This is much easier to generate compared to my older method of
Waypoint + and SA.
