I had a UnixWare system that drifted about 20 seconds per day, but it was
very consistent. I connected via dialup once a day and sync'd the clock,
noticing the error. Then I set a once-a-day cron job that did a "date -a"
adjustment of the proper amount, deduced from the earlier error
observations, and reduced my dialup to once a week. The error each week
was less than one second.
