For those interested in a more complete description of the device and it's
capabilities go to:
http://www.whoi.edu/home/index_nr_spray.html
Spray is about 6 meters long, 0.3 meeters in diameter, and has a mass of
around 50 kg.
The designers claim that it has a range of 6 000 km (not bad for a single
charge of it's batteries) while moving at an average speed of 12 km/day.
It's little slow compared to the speed of a typical submarine but getting
3500 miles on a single charge seems like an efficient way of getting
around - if time isn't an issue.
