Why doesn't GPSmap 76C convert to British Grid?

I have some waypoints entered in to the GPS under degrees WGS 84.

In fact it does not seem to convert to any of the Datums or Postion
formats that I tried other than degrees, degrees/minutes and
degrees/minutes/seconds.
