They ought to take a cue from the Peach State. We have a 7.5 cent gas
tax and have the best roads in the country. We are considering going
to 9.5 cents, but that would STILL be one of the lowest gas taxes in
the country. Now why would that be? Because state law mandates it
all goes to building and maintaining roads. Any state that does this,
even if most of it goes to building roads, still has a reasonably good
road system.
