Even if you do not have the information, you can easily guess and try.
It can only be one of 2 posibilities.

Yes the Foretrex plug is 2.5mm stereo.
The base is always ground, that leaves the tip and the middle Tx or Rx.
On the DB9, Tx/Rx are 2 and 3 (I do not remember which but it does not matter).
Ground is pin 5. So connect plug base to pin 5, then tip to 2 and middle to 3.
If that does not work, reverse the tip and middle (or 2 and 3 on DB9).
Of course you have to make sure that the configurations of your Foretrex and
software are correct. Otherewise it will not work even if you make the cable
correctly.
