You didn't say which street maps you had loaded into your receiver, but it
sounds like the typical map accuracy problems you can expect from the tiger
based maps used in TOPO, and the older street maps available from Magellan.
I can't imagine the firmware being the cause. Did you upload your maps from
a different source than you used before? Are you driving in different areas?
The accuracy of the tiger map street data, and the TOPO data Magellan uses
varies greatly depending on location. Spot on in some areas, off by hundreds
or even thousands of feet in others.
One thing you might try is to download your track into one of the many
programs that will overlay it on the aerial photo maps and see if the unit
is recording the track accurately. This will let you know for sure if it's a
map problem, or a accuracy issue with the unit itself.
