Many receivers are able to exchange almanach data.
The GPS III should.

I cannot verify yours, because mine is a Legend C, but looking into the
capabilities codes you will receive after issuing the Product_rqst in the
2nd data block, you should receive - amongst others - somthing like "A500
D501".
This indicates your device will support the almanach tranfer protocol using
data type 501.

Along with the almanach data you will need to transfer time and position.
Of course the best source for these bits of information is a receiver which
is already running...
