OK I'll take you guy's word for it -- I was just going by memory...

So it looks like you either have to live with the decreased
detail, or try to load City Select maps for the area you are
travelling. If the memory of the 60CS is not enough, then yes
you will have to take a laptop along to load more maps as you go.

The alternative would be to see if you can still exchange your
newly-purchased 60CS for an IQue. The you can get a SD memory
card for the IQue which is a lot larger than the 60CS memory.
Be aware though that the IQue is not as rugged as the 60CS.
