The Garmin eTrex Lengend C(olor) or Vista C(olor) will work well for you.
For your budget you can get both the GPS and street or topo mapping
software.
You can make 3D maps with my mapping software which uses the GPS Exchange
(.gpx) format and is therefore compatible with many other programs as well.
