I'll second this suggestion. I have used the old Vista (B&W) on my bike,
and replaced it with a 60CS. I think the size of the Vista works better on
a bike than the larger 60CS. Plus the orientation of the antenna on the
VIsta/Legend works well on a bike. They have a patch antenna that works
best when the unit is held horizontally, while the 60CS has a helix antenna
that supposedly works best when held vertically. To tell the truth, I've
had good luck with reception with both models on the road and in the woods.
If I had known Garmin was going to maket a color moldel of the Vista, I
would have bought that instead of the 60CS for use on the bike. I also
agree with what others have said, the color screens are far superior to the
B&W models, and well worth the extra cost.
If you are using on a bike, make sure you get a good mount. I've used both
the Garmin mounts and RAM mounts, and have been very happy with the RAM
mounts. If you use the Garmin mounts, make sure you wrap the lanyard
securely around the stem so the unit does not go far if it pops out of the
mount.
